Kasauli
Kasauli is a small cantonment town in Solan district in the Indian 
state of Himachal Pradesh. The town is the home of the Kasauli Brewery, which is the highest brewery and distillery in the world. The cantonment was established in 1842 by the British colonial rulers as a hill station. Located 77 km from Shimla, 65 km from Chandigarh and 50 km from Panchkula, it still retains the old world charms and is a throwback to the past.
Legend has it that Kasauli came into being when Lord Hanuman, on his way to getting the Sanjeevani herb, stepped here for jumping on to the Sanjeevani hill. At Kasauli there is a Hanuman Mandir atop the 300 m high hillock, called Manki Point (locals call it Monkey Point ), where Lord Hanuman is supposed to have rested his feet. This temple lies within the confines of an air force radar station and base and is subject to security restrictions (no cameras or bags allowed). The gates to the station are closed at 4pm. So visitors need to be inside the gate before that. On a clear day, one can get views of nearby cities like Chandigarh. One can reach this point by road or on foot. On foot, it takes nearly 1 and half hours minutes from Kasauli town but the scenery and harmony you enjoy makes the walk worth the effort. Brisk walking takes just 35 minutes.
The most happening place in Kasauli is the junction of Upper and Lower
Malls both of which are markets with shops selling daily commodities and souvenirs for tourists. The Lower Mall boasts local restaurants selling local fast food.
Being a cantonment town, entry to Kasauli is restricted. Foreign citizens must carry their passports. The best time to visit Kasauli is between April and June, and September and November.
Central Research Institute (CRI) at Kasauli was established in 1905 and is a premier National Institute in the field of immunisation and virological research. The institute's contribution to medical field has been globally recognised time and again.
Kasauli is home to a beautiful club called the Kasauli club which was established by the British in 1880.
The Pasteur Institute, founded in 1900 by Sir David Semple, is the oldest in India, producing anti-rabies vaccines and also treating sufferers.
Popular Anglo-Indian author of children's literature, Ruskin Bond was born here. The Irish rugby international Andy Mulligan was born in the town in 1936.Kasauli is also home for some months of the year to famous author Khushwant Singh.
Prominent among the town's architecture is Christ Church (located near the bus station) and Lawrence School, Sanawar (6 km).

Heritage Park Solan
National Heritage Park - Solan
The Prime Minister, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, laid the foundation stone of north India’s first-ever ancient Indian heritage park at Hurt village under the Salogra gram panchayat in 2002.
The park, was supposed to be completed in five years at a cost of Rs 150 crore, spread over an area of 40 acres, but It will take more next 05 year even after 07 years of inaugaration.
Conceived and supervised by Brig (Dr) Kapil Mohan, Chairman of the Mohan Shakti Trust. This will be perhaps one of the largest heritage parks in the country.
Mohan Shakti Trust was set up in 1979 with the sole purpose of developing ancient Indian heritage and for the development of socio-economic and educational status of real, deserving persons.
The proposed park would be a centre of learning and generate sufficient inquisitiveness in the minds of those who have special interest in Indian philosophy and its ancient heritage.
The park would be located at Hurt village, 11 km from Solan, on the right bank of the Ashwani river.
The picturesque surroundings of the park would be supplemented by several other salient features. A research centre for ancient Indian heritage, besides a research centre for Indian ayurvedic medicines and herbs, would be the major features of the new park.
Besides, it would have a big temple in the centre which would be a major attraction for the visitors. An ayurvedic hospital, a well-stocked library, a hostel for research scholars, a meditation centre, an open air theatre, an indoor stadium, a yagya shala, a langar shala, a ropeway trolley facility for the tourists, a tourist hostel, children park, musical fountains and fast-food centres would be the other attractive features of this unique national heritage park.
The park would also have a first aid centre, a security office, a police outpost, a bus stand, a sufficient parking area, a dharmshala and Sulabh shauchalya. It will also have a residential block.
According to Brig Kapil Mohan;
“Since Himachal Pradesh is considered a devlok sthan, there could not be a better place for developing such a park,” hoping that this would also boost tourism in this hill state.
As a special gesture, the Mohan Shakti Trust had also decided to adopt the entire gram panchayat of Salogada for a total literacy programme.

All About Solan
Solan is a city and a municipal committee in Solan district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Named after the goddess Shoolini, it is known as the "mushroom city of India" because of the mushroom centre situated at Chambaghat. The district is better known for the Mohan Meakin's brewery (reputed to be India's oldest brewery) and the famous Solan No. 1 whiskey and Golden Eagle beer.
Geography:
Solan is located at 30°55′N 77°07′E / 30.92°N 77.12°E / 30.92; 77.12[1]. It has an average elevation of 1467 metres (4812 feet). The highest point is atop Mt. Karol from where the transmission tower at Kasauli is visible. Solan gets light snowfall in the winters. Solan is also known as the industrial hub of Himachal Pradesh. One the tehsil of Solan known by the name of Nalagarh is also known as the Pharma Hub as after the introduction of Special Subsidies by the Prime Minister of India in the year 1999 almost all major Companies came and established their units out over her.

Besides the Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry at Nauni, other places of interest in Solan include the Shoolini Mata temple, the Jatoli Shiv temple and the Yungdrung Tibetan Monastery, also near Nauni known as Dolanji approximately 3 k.m. from oachghat .
The picturesque town of Kasauli is a popular hill-station holiday destination with popular temple devoted to the Hindu god Shiva. It is also home to an Army and Air Force base.
There is also a three hundred year old Gurkha fort at Nauni, which dates back to the time when the region was ruled by the Gurkhas of Nepal. The fort is in ruins, but it is strategically located atop a mountain point providing a panoramic view of the entire area.
